What Causes Ear Pain And Heartbeats Sound In Ear?

When into dr 8/22/15 with left ear pain. Was told I had an ear infection and given antibiotics. Last week, I started having a heartbeat sound in my left ear along with continue feeling that it seem like an echo. 50 year old female, 5 2 , 105, frequent walking exercise, normal blood pressure. What is causing it? Thank you.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have ear pain and heartbeats sound in ear . The symptoms you mention in query like heartbeat sound is known as tinnitus . Well there can be many reasons wax build up , hearing loss , infection of ear , condition like meniere's disease , impacted tooth and temporomandibular joint problem . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order Ct scan , blood test , and examination with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics , clean wax , prescribe supplement like ginkgo biloba and may refer you to oral surgeon if the problem is due to temporomandibular joint or impacted tooth .
