What Causes Ear Pain And Swelling On Cheek?

Hi , I am 26 yrs old and I have pain in my left ear from quiet a long and a slight pain just down the ear ( the part which connects ear and throat ) . Also I have noticed a slight swelling in my left cheek from sometime which seems to be consistent now and not getting normal .Can you please advice what could I do about it. Thanks in advance

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain ear pain and swelling in cheek can be due to ear infection that might be extending to facial spaces causing cellulitis or space infections..
The other cause of swelling on cheek can be due to tooth infection causing abscess formation or can be due to inflammation of the gum flap around the wisdom tooth causing Pericoronitis..
Another cause can be infection in the Parotid gland which is a major salivary gland present n that location..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations if required can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take a short course of antibiotics like Augmentin and anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Do cool compresses over the cheek..
