What Causes Ear Pain In A Child With Wax Covering Inner Opening?

My 2.5 year old is complaining of ear pain. she has not had a significant cold and no fever. When i look at the ear she is sticking her finger in it looks like i can see some wax in there almost covering the inner opening. Could this be it? Will it work itself out?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding wax in ear of your 2.5 years old kid having earache.

No doubt wax in ear is a very common and most of the time it remains asymptomatic but some time it may give rise to pain and heard of hearing.

As you can see the wax that means it has to be removed and first of all you may put some wax softener drops inthe ear to soften the wax than only it may be removed. Though your child is very small so preferably you consult ENT doctor for ear cleaning as to avoid complication.

Regards.
