What Causes Ear Pain In A Person Suffering With TMJ?
I was diagnosed with TMJ today by urgent care physician so ey gave me a prescription of ibuprofen 600 Mg. after about 9 hrs and 2 tablets later, myright side (same as hurt side) is droopy on one side. I thought it was an ear infection at first, cause myright ear hurts too and down the side of my face cheek.
As per your complain if you have droopy single side then it is due to Facial Nerve related disorder and as it is just initial symptoms you should immediately consult an Oral Surgeon or a Neurophysician and get evaluated and he can advise you a course of steroids and Vitamins to control the symptoms and prevent further worsening.. Secondly for TMJ also you need to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a Panoramic x ray has to be done to rule out the exact cause of the problem.. Earache can be due to TMJ as the jaw joint lies in close proximity to the ears.. For TMJ you can be advised a course of painkillers and muscle relaxant along with mouth guards, physiotherapy and a soft diet.. Avoid excessive mouth opening like during Yawning, laughing etc..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
