What Causes Ear Pain With Diffuse Swelling In Children?
Hello, My 11 year old son woke up after 2 hours of sleep and complained of pain on the back of his right ear. There is a diffuse swelling in front and back of the ears. There is no redness, no insect bite mark and I check his temperature, he has no fever. What could this be? He did not blow a balloon.

Ear pain and swelling may be due to eustachian tube block or middle ear infection. Other possibilities like insect may enter into the ear so he may ribbed lead to edema and swelling. So please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
