What Causes Ear Pain,sore Eye And Neck After Mastoidectomy Operation?

My 10 year old daughter had a Mastoidectomy operation 2 years ago and it seemed that it had been quite successful but in the last week an infection has recurred in the same ear she has been given antibiotics and appointment to see the ENT surgeon in 10 days time. The pain this time is not only in her ear but she says her eye and neck is sore too.Will this require a second operation or will the antibiotics clear her sypmtoms?

No she might have a sore throat. No need for any surgery. She may continue antibiotic and an anti-allergic which decrease the symptoms. Neck pain occurs sometimes after mastoidectomy operation. Take nasal spray Fluticasone to decrease the nasal symptoms as it may affect the success of the surgery. Avoid cold water and air exposure to ear.
