What Causes Early And Lighter Periods?

Ive been using a birth control pill for a couple months now . I always get my period on the same day (17th) but my period came a week early & it was very light like i hardly had to use a tampon. Me & my boyfriend had sex without a condom in late May . Am I pregnant or is it normal to be light sometimes while on the pill ?
