What Causes Early And Longer Periods?

Hello doctor me and my wife are hoping to conceive Usually my wife menstruation dates were 14-15 of each month, but this her cycle shortened and she began bleeding at 9 of July... At first we thought that it might be a symptom of pregnancy as spotting is one of the pregnancy symptoms... But the bleeding continued till date... This month was also very tiring for my wife as we were on pilgrimes.... I just wanted to know that is there any possibility she might be pregnant.... And if not what was the reason of a early period..?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
One of the earliest and consistent symptom of pregnancy is absence of menstrual cycles.
Presence of menstrual cycle rules out pregnancy all together.
Onset of early periods is suggestive of irregular periods.
You need to observe the periods for subsequent months.
If the periods continue to early or irregular, you need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.
Early onset of menstrual cycle, irregular periods, excessive periods may lead to excessive loss of blood and thus anemia.
Thus, I suggest you to get hemoglobin levels.
In case anemia is present appropriate treatment will be required.

Thanks and take care
