What Causes Early Menstruation With Spotting And HPT Test Negative?
Hello Doctor,
I have had a regular period, to the day, every month except for this one. I had uprotected sex on january 1. On the 12th of January I noticed I began bleeding...but my cycle is not due until the 17th/18th. The next day (Jan 13th) I went to the OB, while there I took a pregnancy test that came out negative, and the doc suggested my cycle simply came early. The color was red, the flow was light/normal, and the length was about 3-4 days, on the 4th day it was brown only when I wiped. I am afraid there could be something seriously wrong..since the preg test was negative...Is there any possibility the test could be wrong..???

Changes in your normal routine can affect your hormones and cause your period to come early or late.Typically, you will get your period two weeks after you ovulate. So, sometimes ovulation happens a week early.In other words, if you ovulate a week early, your period will start a week early as well.
Pregnancy tests are accurate when done 10 days after missing the period or at least one to two weeks after you had sex. If you are pregnant, your body needs time to develop detectable levels of HCG.You can take a blood hcg test inorder to reduce your anxiety which is more accurate.
