What Causes Early Period After Taking Ovral L?
I took one pill of ovral L suggested to me by a young doctor since I wanted to postpone the date of my monthly period. I took one pill a day before and very next day I got my periods, how come my periods got preponed will this have any side effect on me this was the first time I took a contraceptive.

Hi,
Ovral L tablet which is a combined hormonal contraceptive pill, contains estrogen and progesterone. If you want to take the tablets for postponing periods either progesterone tablet or combined pill you have to take till the time you want to postpone. As you have taken only one pill and stopped that might have led to withdrawal bleeding. Possibly this is the cause for the early onset of your periods.
Repeated improper intake of hormonal pills can affect the reproductive hormonal levels and menstrual cycles also. It may take one or two months for regularization of menstrual cycles. So, better to use any tablets only after consulting your gynecologist.
