What Causes Edema, Fatigue And Dark Circles Under The Eyes While Having Pneumonia?

I sure hope so, I was admitted to the hospital with the initial diagnosis as pneumonia, I was in intensive care for a week put on antibiotics which did not work, then prednisone which worked somewhat, on o2 the entire icu stay then in a reg room for a week , all in all hospitalized 15 dalys, too many chiefs not enough Indians if you know what I mean, 5 or 6 doctors not communicating with each other. I finally demanded to be released and do a bronchoscopy next Thursday. I have intermittent pitting edema in my ankles and felt great until today I feel fatigue irratible and tons of emotional feelings, anger , and I have sever dark circles and swelling under my eyes which I have NEVER had ever., is this normal, ?

Hi,

That could be due to the stress of the disease. If your pneumonia goes away then maybe these symptoms will too.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
