What Causes Electric Shock Feeling In Palms Radiating Up The Arms?

Hello. I experienced a somewhat alarming episode involving my hands and arms. I suffer from neurathopy in my hands. This morning I was lowering myself onto a table and put both hands palm down and I literally felt like I had electricity going through my hands all the way up my arms. I got dizzy and felt like I was suspended in time, meaning I could not make my body move. It took about 10 seconds for me to get my hands to move. I immediately felt sick and two hours later I still have the electric shock feeling going through my hands and up my arms. I have limited movement. Should I go to the ER for further testing? I know I cannot drive due to the pain and feelings in my hands and arms.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are suffering from electric shock feeling in palms radiating up the arms. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like multiple sclerosis , diabetic neuropathy , pinched nerve , disc problem or side effect of some medicine . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test along with nerve conduction test along with CT scan and MRI of spine . Doctor may order nerve supplement along with anti inflammatory , physical therapy , . Doctor may also recommend surgery in case of severe disc problem . For now drink plenty of water and eat healthy . In case your are having dizzy spell along with electric shock consult cardiologist for stroke like condition. For now do not bend forward and take proper rest .
