What Causes Electrical Sensation In The Scalp After An Injury?

When I was approximately 12 I was accidentally poked in the forehead by a pitchfork approximately 1 1/2 above my left eye. For some time if I pushed on the area it sent a slight electrical shock up into my scalp but eventually went away. Recently I contracted a serious sinus infection which eventually went away but I now am experiencing the same electrical sensation again sporadically however without touching the area. Sometimes it s rather painful. Could it be related to the long ago injury? Any suggestions to address this is much appreciated.
