What Causes Electrocuting Pain After Having Nerve Root Block?

I had a nerve root block on tuesday for diagnoses prior to surgery. I am now experiencing severe pain feels like im being electrocuted. i was just informed that my wbc was high prior to test which is more than likely bacterial infection somewhere in my body, I now cannot walk or sit without this pain why is this.
