What Causes Elevated ALT Level?

sir,MY Mother had hepatitse 1 year ago...but he recovered with sovaldi medicine (u.s.A)by 6 month course.the result was virus non Detected....Now the result is also same,,,but ALT report is 60 if we do test again after a week ALT is 55 now i tested my mother ALT report today the result was 62 what a problem ...Plz tell me and explain ,,plz plz plz

Hello,

ALT varying between 55 and 62 is not a source of concern. Generally, we do worry if ALT is three times the normal range. So, it would be more of a problem if ALT was 120 and above.

On the other hand, due to her history of hepatitis, it may be advisable to repeat the tests for hepatitis to see if she has an active infection. Also, liver function tests such as albumin levels, INR should be checked to make sure her liver is functioning well.
