What Causes Elevated BP And Swelling In The Lower Legs?
Yes, My bp has been staying too high for the last week. I had Dr appt today, they made appt for me to go to heart Dr. tomorrow afternoon. My pressure at the office this morning was 187/94. I just noticed tonight that my legs below the knee and feet are swelling up. I ve never had that happen before. Does this mean anything important?
Swelling of the legs can have different causes such as - (1) Heart failure- this is diagnosed when the heart can no longer meet the demands or supply the needs of the body (2) Venous disease of the legs (3) Liver or kidney disease (4) Low protein levels in the body (5) Trauma (6) A side effect of medication- there is a blood pressure medication, amlodipine, that causes swelling of the legs (7) Arthritis
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
