What Causes Elevated CRP And WBC Count In Blood With Nausea And Fatigue?
Please help. I m a woman 74 years old. For about 2 months, I haven t been feeling well. Had a number of exams with generally good results. Blood work shows elevated CRP, and slightly higher leukocyte count. So far no diagnosis. My heart rate used to be in the 60s, now is about 90, have no energy, nauseous, sweat at night, belching, and pain in the back of the neck. My eating habit hasn t changed much. Thank you for your help, Karla
General & Family Physician, Dr. Piyush K's Response
Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. CRP is inflammatory marker and its level increases in case there is any inflammation in the body. Would like to know the exact leucocyte count though. CRP with elevated leucocyte count at age 74 years could also indicate rheumatoid arthritis. I would like to know whether Rheumatoid factor test has been done. If no then follow up with General practitioner and take his opinion regarding the test. Thanks and regards. Hope i answered your queries.
