Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
yes..I have been treated for 3 years with steroids to reduce my sed and crp #s..like a roller coaster. I recently had a hernia mesh Bard 3d repair not removal....is it possible that there is a correlation with the inflammation I have Giant Cell Temple and the inflammation caused by the mesh..pain etc
The bad problem in you is the Giant Cell temporal arteritis, which is a type of inflammation of the arteries, mostly lying on your head (temple side). This explains why doctors put you on steroids (which is the most accurate treatment for this inflammation).
Hernia is not an inflammation, but a type of pocket inside the abdominal wall where the intestines find their way to enter-exit. That's why they got it repaired.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care. All the best.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
