What Causes Elevated GFR Levels And Blood In Urine?

My GFR was 56 six months ago, recent test reads 32, and I have blood in my urine. My PCM (a FNP) seems to think waiting is the best course of action at this time. I am taking Cipro as a preventative for infection--I feel horrible with symptoms such as, bloating, achy in lower back and hip region plus I feel tired all the time. Should I insist on seeing a nephrologist now instead of waiting for the GFR to drop lower?

I can't comment solely based on Gfr results. Kindly update with all the reports, mainly renal/kidney function test. If those reports are normal you can always wait but with the range of gfr you currently have it is recommended to consult a nephrologist and follow proper advise diet and exercise.
