General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Apart from cancer, Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) can be elevated due to infections and benign prostate hyperplasia.

The fact is that your urinating stream is weak and a negative biopsy (and maybe lack of prostate or urinary tract infection) supports the idea of prostate hyperplasia (hypertrophy). Also, with aging the PSA levels might increase as well.

At this stage all you have to do is wait and watch, you should visit your doctor at least once per year in order to assess the situation, and do few laboratory tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ervin Toçi
