Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I am 26 Years Old. I have fatty lever. Before six moth I have 7.5 uric acid and SGPT as 49. Now after treat ment uric acid has gone down to 3.5 ND sgpt to 42.5. My doctor has advised to continue the uric acid medicine for six month. I want to ask if this will have any bad affect and also want to know the cause of high SGPT and does this will impact my level. I am VEG and neither drink or smoke.
SGPT is normally found largely in the liver. It is released into the bloodstream as the result of the liver injury.
The normal range of values for SGPT is about 7 to 56 units per litre of serum. However, the ranges of ALT numbers may differ slightly depending on the technique and protocols used by different laboratories worldwide.
So I don't think there is a need to worry and anyway uric acid medicine does not have any bad effect on the liver.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
