What Causes Elevated WBC Count After Getting A Flu Shot?

I had a steroid injection for a rotator cuff injury and shortly after that I got a flue shot. A week or so after these two injections I had blood work done and my white blood count was a little over 17. Could these two injections have caused the elevation?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

Yes any foreign agent which the body considers a FOREIGN can increase the white blood cell count transiently i would suggest you not to panic this just normal with the flu shot or any other vaccination for that matter, take it easy and you can recheck your blood works in 15 days and you will see it was just a transient increase which would have been settled by then.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
