What Causes Elevated WBC Levels In Blood?

MY 29 YEAR OLD SON HAS EXTREMELY HIGH WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT AND HAS BEEN TREATED WITH LAST FEW DAYS WITH ANTIBIOTICS. NO DIAGNOSIS OF THE CAUSE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED YET OTHER THAN SOME TYPE OF INFECTION. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THE WHITE BLOOD CELL COUNT TO BE SIX TIMES NORMAL?

Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic.
Six times normal is very serious and this should be evaluated. This may be sign if any inflammation in body, such as lung infection, uroinfection or intrabdominal infection. However, this can also be sign of some hematologic disorders so he should do extensive hematologic work up.
I hope I have answered your query. I wish you a nice day.
