What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Along With Headaches In A Person With Afib?

My husband has a history of AFib, he has not felt well for over a week. I have checked is BP which ranges from 150/90 to 160/100, today he says he has pressure in his head not a true headache. Does this warrant an ER visit? He is calling his cardiologist on Monday. Thank you

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM,

Understanding your concern . As per your query you have elevated blood pressure along with headaches in a person with atrial fibrillation . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like stress and anxiety , low blood sugar and iron level , ear related problems like meniere's disease and migraine and symptoms of stroke . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper examination without any delay to prevent any further complication . Doctor may order , ECG , TMT , complete blood profile , troponin t test and chest x-ray . Doctor may prescribe betablockers , diuretics , aspirin , isosorbid nitrate , sedatives and may refer you to neurologist for condition like migraine ,who may prescribe vasograine .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
