What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Level Despite Taking Benicar?

Hello, I am currently taking Benicar/hctz 40/25 & Norvasc 10 mg, and Lipitor 5mg. I developed swelling of my legs, ankles & feet from the Norvasc I presume, so switched to H.S to take the Norvasc, but my BP is 166/93 at this moment, why is the BP still elevated if I took the Benicar in AM.

Hi,

Long-standing hypertension can cause pain and swelling of the foot. It is quite normal and nothing much to worry. As your blood pressure is still uncontrollable, we have to change or modify your antihypertensives. You can consult your physician and get evaluated.
