What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Level While On Prednisone?

I am on 1 mg of prednisone per day. I believe that it is causing my blood pressure to go up. ive been taking them now for ten years now. can I come off them without my doc. permission? don t ask me for money! I can find my answer from somewhere else!

Hi,

Yes, one of the side effects of taking Prednisolone is high blood pressure. However, if you intend to stop this medication, you need to do so under your doctors guidance. Steroids need to be gradually tapered over a period and then stopped, otherwise chances of complications are high.
