What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Level?

I was taking losartan but have been off for a year and a half, just checked my pressure and it was 156/108, how long does it take to start working? Weird because I have been on a diet for 10 weeks and exercising everyday, lost 12.5 pounds and down to 185 and fit.

Consult a physician and get evaluated. Additional drugs like hydrochlorthiazide have to be added to control blood pressure.
