What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels And Severe Headaches?

Hi there, for the last few days my BP has been between 134/94 amd 137/99. I ve been checking because of a dreadful headache I ve had for the last few days. I ve never had high BP and do not usually suffer from headaches. I had a CT and it came back fine. I m just worried why it is not reducing in severity.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having diastolic hypertension.
And this is the cause for your headache.
No need to worry for brain related pathology as your CT scan is normal.
Better to start
1. Salt restricted diet.
2. Antihypertensive drug like telmisartan 40 mg once daily in the morning.
3. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Take sound sleep of 6-8 hours.
4. Loose weight if you are obese.
5. Do regular aerobic exercise like running, cycling, swimming etc.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
