What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure, anxiety And Hyperactivity?

Yes. My Tsh levels are within normal limits however I have experienced unexplained elevated blood pressure, hyperactivity, hot flashes, and anxiety suddenly extremely since my mother passed two months ago. Could my thyroid symptoms be exacerbated by stress? I do have thyroid nodules which have been biopsies.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If your hormone levels are normal then it is not likely related to the thyroid but may be related to the emotional stress that you are experiencing.

Anxiety and depression can cause changes in blood pressure and psychomotor agitation (increased movement) is one of the criteria listed for depression as well.

Hot flashes can also occur due to stress because of the body's release of certain hormones (epinephrine and norepinephrine).

I hope this helps
