What Causes Elevated Blood Sugar In Spite Of Taking Istamet And Remylin D?
My bro 59 years old hale and hearty when he went for health checkup the reports showed high blood FS 250 AND PP 350 approx. He has been prescribed Istamet 50 mg and 500 mg once a day and Remlin D. My bro takes Istamet after dinner and Remlin D after breakfast. After taking these meds, when he got the blood workup done, FS showed 136 and PP showed 118. What could be the reason for his FS to be on the higher side inspite of taking istamet 50 mg and 500 mg after dinner the previous night. He is following a strict diet as advised by doc. Shall be grateful to hear from you. Tks n rgds Mrs.P.Dias
These high sugar levels indicate that the treatment is not sufficient. Remylin is only a nutritional supplement and cannot reduce blood sugar levels. Istamet tablet should be taken twice a day and check your levels after 20 days. Dose adjustments can be done based on the results.
