I am 2 weeks out of hernia surgery My hemoglobin has been dropping (last test was Friday @ 9.2) I am going back tomorrow for another test But my blood sugar has been spiking suddenly today...last 2 reading over 225.Could this have nothing to do with internal bleeding?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

There is not a significant risk of major internal bleeding with hernia repair though if your Hb was completely normal prior to surgery, the decrease post surgery would indicate blood loss.

At 9.2, it is not at a danger level and should return to normal with supplements and diet.

The blood sugar level would not be affected by this loss of blood. It may be due to change in diet or activity level if you are using your medication as normal.

I hope this helps
