Thanks for contacting with your health concern
1. as you are a diagnosed case and also under the supervision of your Doctor, thus he must have given due consideration in covering all aspects of the pathology and remain under his regular supervision and guidance, I at most can let you know about the symptomwise approach:
i. The
seizure usually happens where there is a scar in the brain as a consequence of the
injury [present] thus Consult a doctor specialized in Neurology as it may require intensive care
unit [ICU] services and respiratory therapists since if left untreated it can cause damage to the brain.
PS. also for proper neurological examination and investigation [CT- Brain, MRI scan & EEG]
ii. Although febrile
convulsion is commonest in children, so apart from this, one has to take into consideration other common causes in Adults like any underlying infection [septicemia],
low blood sugar level, non compliance with/of drug and a Cardiologist opinion for
Arrhythmia, and remember:
- do not miss the treatment even for one day.
- you should avoid places where convulsions can be dangerous: swimming, driving, climbing heights, work near moving machinery, standing in train or bus doors, work near the fire.
- drugs to be continued for at least 5 years after the last fit, & then slowly tapered off over 6 months.
PS. If treatment is stopped suddenly, rebound may occur and the patient may even go into
status epilepticus, so remember the importance of taking treatment regularly.
