What Causes Elevated Body Temperature?

my 15 year old son always runs hot. When everyone else is cold he is hot. I suspect that he has some form of high functioning autism because some of the symptoms that he shows. Is running hot common in kids with autism? What can I do? I have offered him cooling towels & ice packs at night to help but he usually just wants the a.c. turned down really low & sleep with his ceiling fan & fan tower turned on pointing towards him. I suggested that he wear loose clothes or just underwear but he insists on wearing his clothes at night along with his comforter.

Hi,

I got your chief complaint and it is not something to worry. He may be having a fever and that is why he is feeling hot.

First, check his temperature and record it. Give him a tablet of Paracetamol he will recover.

However, if it remains as such then show him to a physician maybe it can be due to hyperthyroidism as well.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
