What Causes Elevated Diastolic And Reduced Systolic Blood Pressure Levels?
Hi, my blood pressure currently is 152/68. I have been on 100mg, atenolol 50mg x2 day, ridac and aspirin for the past 3months as prescribed by my cardiologist. Problem is my BP is constantly just over 150. Do you think my medication needs to be adjusted, I try and stick to a healthy diet, an stopped smoking 7months ago. I was also diagnosed in November from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Please advise. Thanks , Kay
Hello, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a serious condition and you need to follow your cardiologist's advice. It would be good for you to have a somewhat lower blood pressure but your cardiologist may not want to increase the medications due to your low diastolic pressure. Regards
