Hello and welcome to HCM,
Raised levels of homocysteine are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Homocysteine is a amino acid.
It is involved in metabolism of vitamin B 12 and folic acid and the pathway involving utilization of vitamin B12 and folic acid in synthesis of nuclear material of erythroid precursor cells.
For unknown reasons raised homocysteine levels are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases like atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, etc.

Thanks and take care
