What Causes Elevated Leukocytes?

Hi, I'm a 24 year old sexually-active male, and I went for a urethral smear on suspicions of a possible STD. The results came out and they didn't find any pathogens..only elevated level of leukocytes. What should I do next?? I suffer from frequent urination.. Please advise me??

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Frequent urination and presence of leukocytes on urethral smear suggests urinary tract infection.
You need to get some more investigations to know the cause of symptoms and signs.
You can get a urine examination and Gram's stain of the discharge.
In addition, a culture sensitivity of the urethral discharge can also be done.

Thanks and take care
