Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had 3 blood draws for liver enzymes. They have consistently been elevated a little more each time. I do not drink. I have not taken any Tylenol or ibuprofen since the first lab. I have no pain in the area of my liver. I am not jaundice but I do feel tired a lot. I have been referred to a liver specialist but can not get an appt until after the holiday on Monday. I m very concerned. Can you help me? I m a retired Ortho nurse and all kinds of things are running thru my mind
Hi...Can understand your concern...As per your query about elevated liver enzymes can be due to any medications,or alcohol consumption or taking very oily and spicy foods for a longer period or sometimes it can be auto immune disorder....You need not to worry,Since you do not consume alcohol or any medication then avoid oily spicy food in your diet and also avoid non vegetarian diet as fat metabolism occurs in liver and will be affected. You need to visit a physician for proper evaluation and diagnosis about exact cause as well as right medication .He may prescribe you a liver tonic .I hope the information helps you.Take care.
