What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes?

I am a 33 yr old woman that has been taking 20mg of Lexapro daily. I was scheduled to have surgery today but my liver enzymes were threw the roof. My ALT is at 449 and my AST is at 178. what does this mean for my liver? I stopped taking the med per my MD. my email YYYY@YYYY Thank You, Maggie

Hello,

It is not that much elevated. In conditions like hepatitis, the values will be in thousands.
As of now no definite treatment is required.
You can wait for few weeks and repair the liver function test after two weeks.
Wirhheld drugs and substances toxic to the liver including alcohol.
