What Causes Elevated Monocyte And Lymphocyte Levels?

Had to cbc s over the last week the first slightly elevated monocytes at 0.9 and lymphocytes 1.7 and elevated neutrophils 7.4 total white count 10.3. one week later it was 7.0. WBC ,neutrophils, 3.0 monocyte .6, but the lymphocytes 3.3. Slightly above range. Going back every 10 years I saw average lymphocytes 2.6. I was panicking during the first one and very anxious in the second one but I m recovering from impetigo on Bactrim which I finish before the second lab. should I worry about leukemia?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is understandable to be concerned for any deviation in blood test results but even 10.3 (the initial total white blood cell count), is not significantly abnormal.

The result of 7.4 is completely within the normal range. Persons with leukemia or lymphoma normally have very high white cell counts, in the majority, the levels would be in the late teens or twenties.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
