What Causes Elevated Phosphate Level In Blood?

Hi. I recently had blood tests saying I had a low platelet count. This blood test was repeated and my platelet count remained low. After another blood test, my platelet count had steadied again, but now I have a high phosphate level. They will repeat the blood test again in four weeks time. What could be the cause of this?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, platelets count may decrease in some viral fevers however if persists ITP should be ruled out. Phosphate levels increase needs kidney functions assessment and PTH levels of stay raised on follow up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
