What Causes Elevation In Blood Sugar Levels Despite Taking Metformin?

Hi, I am checking for a friend who was newly diagnosed with diabetes, stage 2. His current level is 261, and is taking medforman (spelling?). Should he contact his doctor about the level. He ate 4 hours ago and is a PE teacher, so he s been active all afternoon

Your friend might have type 2 diabetes as per history... If it is type one diabetes than no role of metformin

He should consult doctor and as per examination drug like metformin prescribed

Along with drug intake regular exercise done and take less sugar in diet and less fatty meal..

Fruits eaten more

If he is type 2 diabetes patient than empagliflozin like newer drug prescribed as add on therapy

If still sugar not improving than insulin might started

Take care

Consult physician for examination and further work up if needed
