Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a female married, age 54 yrs old and weighs 129 lbs. . May recent blood work results showed my Cholesterol is high-264, CHOL/HDL IS low 2.8, HDLD is high-93, LDLD is high-127 and TRIG is 88. What could be the possible cause that my cholesterol levels are high? I have been exercising almost everyday for an hour for years and watching my diet and eating healthy.
The high HDL is okay, a high HDL is actually a goal for cholesterol. The triglycerides are also good.
The LDL is increased slightly as you mentioned. Increased LDL may be due to lifestyle and also due to family history as well. If your lifestyle is healthy, the relative increase may be due to a genetic tendency.
I hope this helps
