What Causes Elevation In Heart Rate Despite Taking Metoprolol?

Yes. My partner had a heart rate of 142 last night. He was put on metropolol.. It subsided. He just took his BP and his rate is again 142, but BP is normal. He has an aura like broken glass in one eye. He is taking 50 mg of metro prololol right now. Is this a sign of a stroke? Should I call 911?

I really appreciate your concern, this is not the sign of stroke but it may be kind of functional disorder better to call ER such condition should never be managed without medical advise hope this information helps.
