What Causes Elevation In The BP Level And Tinnitus While Having AFib?

71 year old male diagnosed with AFIB 3 weeks ago and put on medication. AFIB episodes are currently infrequent but he did have AFIB the last two evenings. Last evening, blood pressure spiked to 212/188. Ears ringing, etc., but blood pressure started to go back down after a few minutes. AFIB episode typically lasts 45 to 90 minutes. He has had a triple by-pass 2.5 years ago. Total of 10 stents, latest one installed during the AFIB diagnosing process. Should we have gone to the ER last night?
