What Causes Elevation In The Pulse Rate While On Cefpodoxime Along With Crestor And Zantac?

I just took one pill named Cefpodoxime. I noticed an increase in my pulse rate. This was listed as a side effect that I should discuss with my doctor. I was wondering if it was interacting with my other medications: i.e., Crestor 10 MG, Toprol , Plavix, Zantac, Claritin and supplements such as calcium, fish oil, one a day vitamin,. I recently am discontinuing mirtapazine, 1/2 every other day 7.5 mg.

Hello,

There is nothing to get panic about the heart rate.

If such a patient comes to me in my clinic, I suggest him/her to monitor the heart rate, every 4th hourly.

And I would suggest to consult a cardiologist if heart rate being on the higher side ( > 110/min) after monitoring for about 3 days.
