What Causes Enlarged Extrahepatic Bile Duct?

I have been diagnosed with an enlarged extra hepatic bile duct (11mm). I have had my gallbladder out with many stones some 30 years ago. I have no symptoms and the enlarged bile duct was found on MRI for a back problem. Should I be worried? Going for an ultrasound in a few days.
