hello
thabks for posting here at healthcaremagic.
enlarged heart means the chamber of the heart have dilated or enlarged due to wither excessive pressure or excessive volume. u can have an enlarged heart after an heart attack.. enlarged heart can also be seen in dilated cardiomyopathy which is a weakness of heart muscle fibers. there are other causes of enlarged heart like fluid overload, pulmonary hypertension, high BP for a long time can also cause an enlarged heart, heart valves narrowing or leaking, kidney failure all can cause enlarged heart.
my advice to you is to get a 2d echo which will give an idea about the cause of enlarged heart. further course can be decided after 2 D echo findings.

thank you
