What Causes Enlarged Liver?

I had an ultra sound today and have been told I have an extremely enlarged liver. I have stage 4 kidney disease, aggressive diabetes, poor circulation and am losing my sight. I assume all this is connected. Also, I am 66 and have never had a boil, but in the last 3 months, I ve gotten two quite large ones.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Poor controlled diabetes, as you would know , can affect the ability of the immune system to fight infections.

This means that it is likely contributing to the boils that you noticed. It may also affect the healing of these infections.

Control of your blood sugars would reduce the risk of infections and improve the speed at which they heal as well.
The diabetes is connected to the kidney disease, circulatory problems and loss of eye sight.

In terms of the liver , this may be associated with the diabetes and kidney disease (retention of fluids).
Diabetes may be associated with a condition called fatty liver disease where there is build up of fat in the liver causing inflammation.

I hope this helps
