What Causes Enlarged Papillae With Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Node?

Hi, I have enlarged, yellow colored with a red tip papillae on the tip of my tongue. They're also very painful and have happened before and went away after 3-4 days. I also have a mild case of sore throat but no white lesions on my tonsils and my lymph nodes appear to be only slightly enlarged. What are those?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain it seems that you have inflamed papillae and can be commonly due to trauma to the tongue tip, eating or drinking something very hot, oral infections, allergies etc..

The sore throat and enlarged lymph nodes is a sign of throat infection which can be bacterial or viral in nature..

Nothing to worry and for inflamed papilla do warm saline gargles..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen for relief from pain and inflammation..
Suck on ice pops for relief..

For throat infection take Azithromycin 500 mg once a day for 5 days..
Take Ibuprofen for pain..
Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily.
Avoid spicy and hard foods..
Drink plenty of water..
Steam inhalations can help..

In case if the papillae does not start resolving in next 3 to 4 days consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated for any underlying diseases causing inflamed papillae..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
