What Causes Enlarged Right Chamber Ventricle?

Went to the cardiologist yesterday for a yearly ultrasound to check my tricuspid valve leak that they found last year for any changes. Well now they told me I have an enlarged right chamber ventricle. Is this dangerous and something to worry about? My doctor told me not to worry to much about it, just to come back in another year for another ultrasound. Please tell me what can cause this enlargement?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would explain that an enlarged right ventricle could be related to different possible causes, including a lung disorder or a shunt.

I would like to directly review your cardiac ultrasound report in order to give a more professional opinion.

I would also recommend performing a chest X-ray study and pulmonary function tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
